Professional Experience

Dr Jamila has over 10-year experience in treating breast cancer, having worked at the only tertiary oncology hospital in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia, serving high volume of breast cancer patients, exceeding 700 per year.

Heading the breast section that is running a well-structured Multidisciplinary breast cancer management program has ensured maintaining an up to date medical and surgical oncology knowledge.

Leading the breast surgery service line in the Estern health cluster of Saudi Arabia has empowered Dr Alazhri with the tools to establish and develop a patient- care centered breast care program.

Dr Alazhri also has an experience in treating benign breast conditions, creening average and high risk women for breast cancer and providing the prophylactic management based on latest international guidelines and recommendations.

Her surgical skills cover a variant of surgical oncology and Oncoplastic procedures, including:

  • Intraoperative ultrasound guided lumpectomy for non-palpable lesions “Wire-less breast surgery”.
  • Sentinel lymph node biopsy procedure using dual and triple technique.
  • Delayed sentinel node biopsy procedure using innovative techniques.
  • Axillary reverse mapping and immediate lymphatic reconstruction for lymphedema prevention after axillary node dissection.
  • All levels of onco-plastic breast conserving surgery.
  • Perforator flap reconstruction after breast conserving surgery.
  • Skin sparing and nipple sparing mastectomy.
